Who Qualifies For Your Bursary Or Student Loan From NSFAS?



The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) has officially opened the 2025 application system.

Applications at the moment are open and can shut on fifteen December 2024.

*** Who qualifies for NSFAS funding

To qualify for NSFAS funding, an applicant must fulfill the following requirements:

• Be a South African citizen or copyright who originates from a house with a combined gross residence earnings that does not exceed R350 000 per annum.

• People with disabilities qualify if their combined home profits isn't going to exceed R600 000 per annum.

• SASSA recipients instantly qualify for funding and want not submit any proof of income.

*** Loan Scheme for the Missing Middle

The NSFAS Loan Scheme for the missing middle is open to all South African citizens and permanent residents from homes with combined R350 000 and R600 000 per annum.

Applicants are reminded to offer the right Identity Doc numbers, names, and surname, as mirrored inside their South African ID.

NSFAS only funds people who are finding out or intend to study at a general public university or TVET college in South Africa.

All students who wish to study here in any of the public universities and TVET colleges should apply timeously and not to wait my nsfas until the last day.

Learners do not have to wait nsfas check for matric results to apply for NSFAS. They should apply now and avoid delays in the processing of their application.
